I have never heard of Posture Therapy or Egoscue®. How long has it been available, and how did it get started? The Egoscue® Method was created by Pete Egoscue in an effort to free himself of chronic pain after being injured in Vietnam. Pete studied anatomy books and tracked the impact various exercises had on his function, range of motion, pain level, and position. He made the connection between position and function and has been teaching others since 1978. For further information on, I highly recommend any and all of Pete’s books. How do you say Egoscue®? Eh-gáh-skyoo. I know, it’s tricky. Can I try a single visit to know it works before signing up for a series? Absolutely! I want my clients to feel confident they are making the right choice. I offer the opportunity to do an individual session and upgrade to a package on the second visit. You will have the chance to see and feel results and make an informed decision. How will I remember my exercises after my visit? As an Approved Provider Certified by Egoscue®, I utilize the ePete Software system to create your personalized menus of Egoscue exercises, or e-cises. At each visit you will receive a printed copy with pictures and easy to follow instructions, as well as an online account that offers videos of each of your exercises. The videos are very helpful to ensure you are keeping proper form as you do your program at home. If you ever lose your printed exercises, you can log in to your online account and print them directly from the web. My father/mother/friend/uncle/loved on lives out of state/country. I think they could benefit from this work. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for sharing the gift of health! There are Egoscue clinics and Certified Affiliates all over the world, so chances are they may be able to find a provider nearby. If not, there are options for online or video programs through Egoscue clinics, as well as books and DVDs that provide a wealth of information and exercise programs. |

What forms of payment do you accept? Cash, check and all major credit cards. Do you take insurance? I do not accept insurance. I can provide an invoice to submit to your insurance agency. Most plans allow HSA funds to cover Posture Therapy.

How should I prepare for/what should I bring to my session? Please bring or wear comfortable clothes, including sneakers or flat soled shoes. Shorts or yoga pants are ideal as we will take photos and it is best if we can see your knee position. For women, a fitted t-shirt, tank/sports top or sports bra or bathing suit are best for initial evaluation and photos. Comfortable clothes are fine for the remainder of the session. For men, shorts and sneakers are ideal. |
