welcome!
As the founder of the Posture Studio of SF, I teach people suffering from chronic back and neck pain how to live pain free, active lives without relying on drugs, surgery, or long term treatments.
Having once lived with chronic pain, I found my calling when I found relief. I love sharing these simple and effective techniques with others. |

my experience with chronic pain
Living with chronic pain is not a recipe for a happy, fully engaged life. I know this from both professional and personal experience. I used to walk with a cane after a spinal fusion failed to end searing back and sciatic pain that was attributed at various times over several years to spondylolisthesis, fractured vertebra, herniated discs, arthritis, stenosis, degenerative disc disease, edema, bad luck and bad genes. I was otherwise healthy and in my 20s! Pain impacted every area of my life: relationships, career, finances, my goals and dreams...everything suffered. I tried any alternative I could find but was dependent on a cocktail of mind numbing medications, some of which led to side effects and more medication to treat the side effects. And I was still hurting. Instead of having a second surgery as advised, I took responsibility for and control of my health and well being—starting with correcting my posture. After one session of Egoscue, I no longer needed a cane. Within six visits, I was willing and able to touch my toes. Within six months, I could run again. my life today I am no longer in chronic pain. When I’m not at the studio you can find me putting my own shoes and socks on with ease, biking around town, hiking around the Bay Area, dancing at ODC, carrying my own groceries from the farmers market, doing my “e-cises”, and occasionally just relaxing at the beach reading a good book. my approach
At the Posture Studio, I work with my clients to help them discover possibility. The foundation of the work is understanding healthy alignment—what it looks like, feels like, and how to get there.
Having once lived with chronic pain, I understand the difficulties and challenges in finding the right solution and maintaining hope. Beyond getting out of pain, I focus on helping my clients learn to trust in their experience, set goals, effectively incorporate new habits, and develop the skills to reclaim their power.
I believe posture is our foundation for and indication of our overall health and well being. The methods I teach are basic self care techniques to help you understand, maintain and repair that foundation.

I have a cause. We need those, don’t we? Otherwise the darkness and cold gets in and everything starts to ache.
My soul has a purpose, it is to love;
if I do not fulfill my heart’s vocation, I suffer.
