Welcome! The Posture Studio of San Francisco is my practice as an Affiliate of the Egoscue Method and student of the Balance Method. Having once lived with chronic pain, I found my calling when I found relief. I love sharing these simple and effective techniques with others. If this work makes sense to you, please pass it along to those that might benefit! |

Education/Certifications
I hold advanced certification as a Posture Alignment Specialist II and Accredited Exercise Therapist through Egoscue University. I have trained and worked as an Exercise Therapist at Egoscue Clinics in San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and most recently in Denver, where I served as Lead Therapist and Clinic Director. |
|
My primary focus in working with clients is based on the Egoscue Method. As an Approved Provider, I utilize the ePete software system developed in Egoscue clinics. I also incorporate techniques from the Balance Method into clients’ therapy programs.

My Experience with Chronic Pain
Living with chronic pain is not a recipe for a happy, fully engaged life. I know this from both professional and personal experience. I used to walk on a cane after a spinal fusion failed to end searing back and sciatic pain that was attributed at various times over several years to spondylolisthesis, fractured vertebra, herniated discs, arthritis, stenosis, degenerative disc disease, edema, bad luck and bad genes. I was otherwise healthy and in my 20s! I had tried every alternative I could find. I was dependent on a cocktail of mind numbing medications, some of which led to side effects and more medication to treat the side effects. And I was still hurting. Instead of having a second surgery as advised, I took responsibility for and control of my health and well being—starting with correcting my posture. After one session of Egoscue, I no longer needed a cane. Within six visits, I was willing and able to touch my toes. Within six months, I could run again. My Life Today I am no longer in pain or living in fear. I make decisions without worrying about impending pain, disability, financial ruin or the dreaded uncertainty of whether I can actually get that sock on by myself without ending up in the hospital. When I’m not at the studio you can find me putting my own shoes and socks on with ease, biking around town, hiking with my fiancé Casey, dancing at ODC, playing with my nephews, carrying my own groceries from the farmers market, doing my e-cises, and occasionally just relaxing at the beach reading a good book. Future plans include travels with the Balance Center to study posture and movement patterns in populations around the world, planning my wedding, learning to surf, and becoming a member/speaker for TED. |
